India Poker Championship latest edition was in Colombo, the island country of Srilanka. The IPC was scheduled to happen in July in Colombo later the date changed to 4 to 8th September at Bally Casino in the state capital of Colombo.
The team of IPC scheduled it for 5 days and the highlighted of the Main Event is INR 25,000. The IPC already is having a connection with Colombo i.e. The player Anuruddha Meddegoda who hails from Colombo is participating in the 2013 India Poker Championship who is presently competing in the World Series of Poker Championship in Las Vegas and is expected to win the IPC title again in his hometown.
It’s the first time IPC is going international, Goa was the place where for past many years the Indian poker uses to happen. Now the organizers feel that the similarity and proximity of India and Srilanka can be a big attraction for players. Rajeev Kanjani of IPC said, it’s hardly a two hour flight and he feel like he is in Southern India to a fair extent. His major attraction is the currency exchange rate means the player can earn bigger bucks. Jasven Saigal of IPC says that What he like about Bally’s is the very laid back feeling while playing and yet across the floor, there will be a live band cranking out amazing tunes with raffle draws and shows happening on the main stage.
The international Marketing Manager Bally’s Colombo Johnson Perera’s opinion is the player will get more entertained with the stunning life the Colombo is offering.
The best part with live tournament is the back up of IPCS partnerships with online Poker portal Adda52 which offers the players four INR 25,000 which comes with the seat packages for the Main event free.
